Dilwara Temples

Built by a man called Vastupal Tejpal in between the 11th and the 13th century, the Dilwara Temples are popular Jain temples located in Rajasthan. It is situated at a distance of 2.5 kilometers away from Mount Abu. These temples (i.e. a total of five) are essentially made up of marbles and, are considered to be sacred according to the Jain religion. The ideal time to visit these temples is during the winters which begins in November and ends in February with, the temperature ranging from a maximum of 29 degree Celsius to a minimum of 12 degree Celsius.

The nearest railway station to the Dilwara Temples is located in Mount Abu. The Mount Abu Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country.

2. By road:

There are a number of bus services that operate from Mount Abu to major cities such as Hyderabad, Agra, Mysore, Munnar, Mysore etc. Udaipur and Ahmedabad are the starting points located in close proximity to Dilwara Temples located in Mount Abu.

A combination of five temples form what is called  the Dilwara Temples .These temples were supposed to have been built in between the 11th and 13th century and are devoted to Lord Adinath, Lord Rishabdeo, Lord Neminath, Lord Mahavir Swamy, and Lord Parshvanath, the Tirthankaras of the Jain religion.  It is said that the construction of all these temples have been undertaken as per “Vastu Shastra”. Additionally, these temples are also considered to be one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites of the Jain religion in the country. Furthermore, these temples are also known for their architectural brilliance.
