a. Best time to visit Chitrakoot:

The ideal time to visit Chitrakoot is in between October to March when the climate is extremely pleasant with, temperature ranging from maximum of 20 degree Celsius to a minimum of 2 degree Celsius.

1. By train:

The closest railway station is located in Karvi. The Karvi Railway Station is well connected to major cities and towns in the country such as Delhi, Agra, Varanasi etc

2. By road:

There are a number of bus services available from Chitrakoot that connect to towns in the country such as Allahabad, Satna, Panna etc.

3. By air:

The nearest airport to Chitrakoot is located in Khajuraho. The Khajuraho Airport is well connected to major cities such as Delhi, Varanasi etc.

c. Religious significance:

A popular legend states that it was in this city that Lord Ram, his wife Sita, and younger brother Lakshman spent a majority of their time during exile. The forests located in and around this city were known to be home to many great Hindu saints such as Rishi Atri, Sati Ansuya, Dattatreya etc. It is also said that it was in this city that Lord Ram conducted the “Shraddha” ceremony in order to honour the death of his father. This ceremony apparently was watched by all gods and goddesses.
